"Come unto me, all ye who are weary....I will give you rest."

"Please Lord...
Let me feel you.
Let me touch you.
Let me, just for a moment,
Be in your presence, once again."
"My spirit is so very tired Lord...
Please...wrap your arms around me.
Hug me...hold me close.
Let me curl up on your lap and put my head on your shoulders.
Let me rest there until your peace flows through every fiber of my being."
"This
world is so cruel Lord.
Everywhere I look, I see,
Pain...
Hopelessness...
Despair..."
"Please
Lord,
Reach down and comfort those hearts that are hurting.
Heal those bodies consumed with pain.
Give hope to those who have no hope."
"I
love you so much,
I don't tell you enough,
But I do.
Thank you for always being here for me,
And for loving me too."
~Amen
"I'm mad God.
I'm mad because the religious people who claim to love You,
Don't love me."
"They treat me like I'm diseased.
With their pious words they speak of love,
But they tell me with their actions,
There's no place in their 'fold' for me."
"What did I do God?
Aren't You the one who created me to be unique?
Didn't You say that I didn't have to please man,
To serve You?"
"I've tried to do that God,
Not caring for man's approval.
And yet...I'm lonely God.
While here on earth, I need human companionship."
"But who God?
Who can I trust?
Who can I turn to?
When even those who claim to be Your children,
Turn away from me?"
"I'm confused God.
I'm confused because I was brought up to believe,
The world outside was the only place,
Lonely and cold."
"But I'm inside now God,
And there's no warmth here.
I feel only condemnation,
For being 'different' from the rest."
"Is this the way Your Son felt,
While here on earth?
He, too, suffered scorn and rejection by the religious leaders,
by the very same people,
who claimed to know You best."
"I can't help but wonder God?
Is this the way Your people will act in Heaven?
Or will they finally accept those of us who are different,
Once they see,
That we are a part of You too?"

I
cannot begin to fathom, what it must have felt like for you,
To be God's very own Son,
And yet, to have hung on that old, rugged, splintered cross,
Suffering....
while the very people you sought to save,
spat on you...
jeered at you....
made fun of you...
As they cruelly and mercilessly...crucified you.

What self control you must possess,
To be able to bear that kind of pain and humiliation,
Knowing all along that with just a whisper,
Ten thousand angels would have been at your beck and call,
to destroy this world and set you free.

I often wonder why?
Why would one such as you,
Go through so much...
for one such as me?
"Come in," God said. "So, you would like to interview Me?"
"Yes," I said, "If you have the time."
God smiled and said:
"My time is eternity and is enough to do everything.
What questions would you like to ask of me?"
"What surprises you most about mankind?"
God answered:
"That they get bored of being children,
are in a rush to grow up,
and then long to be children again."
"That they lose their health to make money, and then lose their money to restore their health."
"That by thinking anxiously about the future,
they forget to enjoy the present."
"That they live as if they will never die, and they die as if they have never lived."
We sat for awhile in silence, me soaking in His words. Then I asked Him my next question:
"As a parent, what are some of life's lessons you want your children to learn?"
"To learn that they cannot make anyone love them.
What they can do is to love, and in return, they themselves will be loved."
"To learn that what is most valuable is not "what " they have in their lives.
What is most valuable is "who" they have in their lives."
"To learn that a rich person is not the one who has the most,
but is the one who needs the least."
"To learn that it only takes a few seconds
to open profound wounds in the heart of another,
and sometimes an eternity for those wounds to heal."
"To learn that in order to be forgiven, you have to forgive."
"To learn that money can buy everything but happiness."
"To learn that it's okay for two people to look at the same thing,
and see it totally different."
"To learn that it is not always enough,
that they be forgiven by others.
First, they have to forgive themselves."
"To learn not to judge or compare themselves to others.
All will be judged individually on their own merits,
not as a group on a comparison basis."
"The heart of man is so delicate, yet so complex, only its Maker can know it.
Each heart is so different, actuated by different motives, controlled by different
circumstances, influenced by different sufferings."
"How can one judge of another? Leave to Me the unraveling of the
puzzles of life. Leave to Me the teaching of understanding. Bring each
heart to Me, its Maker, and leave it with Me, secure in the certainty
that all that is wrong, I can set right."
I sat there for awhile enjoying the moment.
I thanked Him for His time and for all that He has done for me and my family,
and He replied...
"Anytime. I'm here 24 hours a day.
All you have to do is ask for me. I will always answer."
"Prayers Can Not Be Answered
Unless They are Prayed."
Last night, as I sat there,
I started to cry.
My wings were all broken,
and I just couldn't fly.
All the others were flying,
around and around.
But for me, I couldn't,
I remained on the ground.
My wings were so bad,
all rusted and torn.
From anger and hate,
to arrogance and scorn.

They wouldn't even flap,
being so out of repair.
But the thing that hurt most,
no one seemed to care.
I sat there alone,
watching all others fly.
Not even getting up,
or attempting to try.
But then in one moment,
God was gracious to me.
He sent me a friend,
as I prayed on my knees.
Her wings were pure white,
and her features aglow.
She was very strong,
which I soon came to know.
She picked me right up,
and flew to the highest mountain top.
I was really nervous,
'cause there, she did stop.
She told me, "now fly,"
but "I can't" I said back.
"It's not your wings that are broken,
it's just confidence you lack."
I turned around and looked,
to check out my wings.
They looked so torn,
those pitiful things.
"I'll catch you" she said,
"If you start to fall,
Just yell out my name,
I'll hear your call."
So I took a running start,
attempting to soar.
Exhilaration went through me,
like never before.
"I'm flying!" I exclaimed,
"higher than kings."
"I'm flying!"
"flying with broken wings."

If a care is too small to be turned into a prayer,
It is too small to be made into a burden.
Dear Lord...
As I journey into my own soul,
I find peace...I find love...
I find You.
~Suzy '99

Holding the heart of another in the comforting hands
of prayer, is a priceless gift of love.

If a soul can be touched, by what I have to give,
Then let me give unconditionally.
If a heart can be healed by the feeble words I pray,
Then let me pray unceasingly.
If my walk through the fire keeps someone from getting burned,
Then let me walk through the flames without faltering.
If the love that I share can reflect your love in me,
Then let me shine, radiantly.
~ Suzy '99

Keep me warm when I chill.
Forgive me should I have to kill.
Calm me when I rage,
Set me free from Satan's cage.

Drive me home when I'm drunk,
Save me when I've been sunk.
Lead me when I cannot see,
Be My Sanctuary.
Hold my hand when I'm afraid,
Help me when I go astray.
Hold me when I need your touch,
Tell me that you care so much.
Dry my tears when I weep,
Protect me when I fall asleep.
Answer me when I call,
Comfort me when I fall.
Make me smile when I frown,
Help me up when I'm down.
Believe that my limit is the sky,
Give me guidance when I fly.
